The Christie Heights Project is a thoughtful Calgary home renovation designed to give a well-loved home a new chapter without erasing the character its owner had built over more than two decades. What began with worn carpeting and an aging kitchen evolved into a strategic main floor renovation focused on comfort, functionality, durability and long term resale value. We redesigned the kitchen with new custom cabinetry, improved storage and a more functional layout; transformed an underused breakfast nook with builtin seating and additional pantry storage; refreshed the flooring, lighting and window treatments; and updated the fireplace living area to create a warmer, more cohesive connection between the spaces. Every decision was considered through the lens of how the homeowner lives today while preparing the property for its eventual future owners.
As a Calgary interior design and renovation project, Christie Heights demonstrates our approach to creating timeless homes through practical, carefully considered improvements rather than renovation for renovation’s sake. Durable materials, warmer lighting, rich natural tones, custom millwork and comfortable furnishings were layered together to modernize the home while respecting its history. Existing pieces worth keeping were given new life, while high use areas received investment in long lasting finishes and custom solutions designed specifically for the space. The result is a refined, warm and highly functional home that feels current without feeling trendy, giving its owner greater comfort and enjoyment now while thoughtfully positioning the property for resale in the years ahead.

“Dana presented the design in levels: (1) what we absolutely had to do, (2) what would be nice, and (3) what was the next level after that. She gave me the impacts and the consequences of each choice. Every decision we made came down to two questions: does this fit me, and how does it look down the road at resale. This allowed me to make information-based decisions.
What really stood out to me was the execution. Dana built a project schedule and followed it to a T. Twelve weeks, start to finish. She planned and executed extremely well, and was adaptive and flexible. I looked at that schedule every week and planned my own week around it.
Dana’s suite of trades was exceptional. Without exception, they showed up when they were supposed to, did quality work at a fair price, and cleaned up after themselves. That is rarer than it should be.
I told Dana early on she was going to have to do some hand holding, and she did. Renovations are stressful, and having somebody who can guide you through the process and be there for you is worth a great deal. That was always in the back of our minds. When I raised an issue, I never had to raise it twice. It was dealt with immediately and effectively.
10 out of 10. Very pleased.”
